Position Overview – L1 Service Desk

Zones is hiring for the L1 Service Desk role to provide remote technical support to global customers. This position is well-suited for fresh graduates and entry-level IT professionals who want to begin their career in IT support and service operations.

The role focuses on first-contact issue resolution, effective communication, and maintaining high customer satisfaction levels while working in a dynamic, 24/7 support environment.


Key Responsibilities

As an L1 Service Desk Engineer, you will:

  • Act as the first point of contact for technical support via phone, chat, and email

  • Provide core IT support to global clients in a 24/7 rotational shift environment

  • Troubleshoot and configure desktop hardware, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices

  • Perform remote diagnostics and guide users through step-by-step solutions

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and software applications

  • Create, update, and document service desk tickets while ensuring SLA compliance

  • Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level technical teams when required

  • Maintain accurate logs of incidents, resolutions, and customer interactions

  • Communicate effectively with team members using Microsoft Teams and Skype

  • Deliver excellent customer service with strong communication and multitasking skills

  • Suggest improvements to support processes and knowledge base articles


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Any graduate

  • Experience: 0 – 6 months in IT Support or Service Desk (Freshers can apply)

  • Basic knowledge of computer systems, operating systems, and troubleshooting

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong customer-service mindset and eagerness to learn

  • Willingness to work in 24/7 rotational shifts
