Role Overview
The AI/Machine Learning Engineer will support the design, development, and deployment of intelligent software solutions that enable advanced analytics and AI-driven capabilities across Siemens Energy’s digital platforms. Working with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to machine learning workflows, backend APIs, Generative AI applications, and cloud-based solutions while building practical experience in enterprise AI engineering.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in building and maintaining machine learning and basic Generative AI pipelines, including data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and inference.
- Support the development of simple Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and NLP workflows under guidance.
- Work on text processing tasks such as data cleaning, parsing, chunking, and embeddings.
- Contribute to backend API development using technologies such as FastAPI to expose AI and ML functionalities.
- Help integrate AI models into enterprise applications and support deployment activities.
- Write clean, modular, and testable Python code following software engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver product features.
- Debug, test, and optimize machine learning models and pipelines for performance and reliability.
- Stay updated with advancements in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Generative AI technologies.
Required Skills & Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 0â3 years of experience or a strong academic/project background in AI/ML.
- Good programming skills in Python.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic understanding of Machine Learning concepts, NLP, and model evaluation.
- Exposure to libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with Generative AI concepts such as LLMs, Prompt Engineering, or RAG is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of APIs and backend development.
- Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud platforms is a plus.
- Knowledge of Git and software development best practices.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
