Job Summary

Role Overview

The Junior Data Engineer role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data engineering and business intelligence solutions. Selected candidates will contribute to ETL and ELT development, cloud data warehousing, Power BI reporting, software development, and data integration projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Working at Medpace provides practical exposure to Snowflake, SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, dbt, Power BI, REST APIs, cloud data platforms, and enterprise data engineering practices. Candidates will strengthen their technical skills while contributing to business-critical data solutions within a collaborative software development environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop solutions using data warehousing, business intelligence, and database technologies including Snowflake, ANSI SQL, SQL Server, and T-SQL.
• Support ETL and ELT development using dbt, Azure Data Factory, and SSIS.
• Design, develop, enhance, and support Microsoft Power BI reporting solutions.
• Collect, analyze, and document business and user requirements.
• Participate in software validation through development and execution of test plans and test cases.
• Develop software following the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Collaborate with development teams on projects, tools, and technical procedures.
• Provide end-user support, application setup, installation, and maintenance.

Required Skills & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Internship experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Knowledge of dimensional data modeling, Star Schema, and Snowflake Schema.
• Understanding of ETL development and business reporting concepts.
• Knowledge of Snowflake cloud data warehouse, Fivetran, and dbt is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Python programming.
• Knowledge of REST APIs.
• Basic understanding of SQL Server databases.
• Knowledge of C# and Azure development is an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical, written, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
