Role Overview

The Network Implementation Engineer role focuses on deploying, maintaining, and operating Google’s private global data networks. Engineers work closely with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineers, construction teams, and telecommunications vendors to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performance networking solutions.

Selected candidates will contribute throughout the complete network lifecycle, including deployment, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and infrastructure expansion. The role offers exceptional exposure to enterprise networking, cloud infrastructure, internet-scale systems, and modern data center operations while working on one of the largest networks in the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Support deployment, maintenance, and operations of Google’s private global data networks.
• Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers, and Field Engineers.
• Work with construction and telecommunications vendors during network implementation.
• Contribute to building reliable, scalable, and cost-effective network infrastructure.
• Support network architecture, installation, configuration, activation, and commissioning activities.
• Participate in maintaining Google’s global data center and metro network infrastructure.
• Help improve operational efficiency and network reliability.

Required Skills & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of network routing protocols, network design, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of network equipment and routing technologies.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
• Knowledge of networking protocols including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, DHCP, IPSec, GRE, DNS, Radius, and Wi-Fi standards.
• Basic understanding of LAN switching and data center operations.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in a network operations environment is an added advantage.
